You will live and study in our newly revamped and decorated in English Heritage style smart building. Our resources are modern and highly effective and the learning journey is outstandingly delivered by well qualified and experienced teachers.
Phoenix provides English courses for individuals and groups throughout the year, including our Summer School for adults. As well as General English classes full and part time, we run additional activities such as English with Yoga & Meditation, Art, Music, Business skills and Sport.
We take the maximum of 18 adult students at any time with an average class size of 7. We will insist you speak English at all times.
The living facilities are inspired by The English heritage and presented in a bespoke, beautiful and functional style, by a very talented young designer Victoria Cox. There are 8 bedrooms – 2 single, 3 double and 3 triple, some with en- suite. There are 2 kitchens, dining room, living room and a well-kept garden. There is an ample parking space at the front.
Superfast WiFi is freely available throughout the building and gardens.
In Phoenix we provide a balanced menu including vegetarian food, meat and fish. We use organic and local produce mostly. We all eat together in our dining room and mealtimes are a wonderful opportunity for conversation, reflection and fun. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and teas/coffees are all included in the price. We ask each student to help once a week on a rota system to help serve and clear the meals.
The school is in the centre of Yeovil next to the beautiful Sydney gardens and within 5 minutes walking distance to a wide range of shops, pubs, cafes and supermarkets.
After school activities
There is a range of educational, cultural and sporting facilities which include Yeovil Country Park, Nine springs park, many beautiful National Trust properties such as Montacute House and Barrington Court. The area is rich in Museums – Fleet Air Arm, Haynes International Motor, Somerset Rural life etc.
Nearby is one of the most beautiful medieval towns in England – Sherborne with its abundance of ancient and beautiful buildings, superb Abbey and two Castles (one built by Sir Walter Raleigh), Sherborne’s many attractions- antiques, art and boutiques make for a captivating visit.
Less than an hour’s drive away is the famous landmark Stonehenge.
Yeovil has two theatres; The Octagon and The Swan, a ten-screen cinema and 18-lane ten-pin bowling alley.

Yeovil is easily reached by road from London via the M3 and A303
London (Waterloo) to Yeovil by train is 2 hours 15mins
Yeovil has two railway stations: Pen Mill on the Bristol/Weymouth line and Yeovil Junction on the London Waterloo/Exeter line.
There is also a bus station in Yeovil
Heathrow Airport to Phoenix school by car is 2hours.
